The names of five more Nazareth Area High School distinguished graduates will be added to the Alumni Wall of Fame, the wood-paneled wall located in the auditorium. They were selected by the Nazareth Area Blue Education Foundation.
Dr. Gail Smith, who graduated in 1966, is chairman of the Department of Clinical Studies in Philadelphia for the University of Pennsylvania. Smith established PennHIP (Penn Hip Improvement Program), aimed at preventing or reducing canine hip dysplasia. He lives in Havertown.
Class of 1950’s Ralph Brodt Jr. is founder of Nazareth Community Band and owns Nazareth Music Center. The former Nazareth Councilman resides in the borough.
Nazareth resident John Ziegler graduated in 1946 and is a former account executive for Frigidaire Division of General Motors. Ziegler served as treasurer for Moravian Churches from New York to Minnesota and is a former YMCA board president.
The long career of Wayne Keck, class of 1939, began at Muhlenberg College, where he served as instructor of the chemistry department. He also worked at Fisher Scientific Corp. The longtime Nazareth resident received an honorary Doctorate of Humanities award from Muhlenberg.
The veteran of the bunch is Ruth Leh, a former high school teacher. Leh, a 1927 graduate, spent 19 years as librarian of the Memorial Library of Nazareth & Vicinity. She lives in Mount Arlington, N.J.
